Eventurous Singles Rules and Guidelines

Membership Guidelines

You must be single at the time you join, no exceptions based upon relationship preferences. If you enter into a relationship while being an Eventurous Singles or a previous Metro Detroit Singles - Hiking and Kayaking member you are welcome to stay, you’ll be grandfathered into the group.

Membership Refund Policy

One-month plan memberships will not be given a refund, due to the administrative fees associated with on-boarding members.

3-, 6- and 12-month plan memberships will be given a 7-day free trial period. The plan must be cancelled prior to the 7-day trial period or members will be charged for the plan without refund. Members that cancel within the 7-day trial period can still access plan benefits until the free trial ends. You may cancel your membership; however you will be charged until the membership period purchased is complete.

Event Refund Policy

There are no refunds for ticketed events. Please make sure to read all event details and make informed decisions prior to purchasing tickets. Unfortunately, the system does not have the ability to offer refunds for ticketed events, however you are allowed to resell tickets to other members from group when the following guidelines are followed:

There is a no refund policy for event tickets and the resale of your ticket is not guaranteed.
If you resell your ticket, the amount for the ticket cannot be sold for more than the price you paid.
If a waitlist has been created, you must go in order of the members on the waitlist to sell your ticket. The company website and/or our Facebook page – Eventurous Singles will be the place to look for or create a member waitlist.
Reselling your ticket is your responsibility. Please reach out to let us know that you will no longer be attending.
If your ticket has been resold, the member that purchased it needs to contact us to let us know so that we can update our attendees list and the member will need to sign the event waiver.

Event Capacity

Some events have a limited capacity and are filled on a first paid or first reserved basis, depending on the event format. We strive to provide a wide range of events and repeat popular ones, but sometimes the events may get fully booked and you may miss out. Please reserve your spot as early as possible so that we can try to accommodate more members.

Event Cost

We strive to provide a large percentage of our events at no extra cost however some events will have an extra cost associated to participate. Please read all event details carefully before you purchase a ticketed event, as ticketed events do not have a refund.

Bringing Guests to Members-Only Events

In certain instances, members are allowed to bring guests to events, however no guest is allowed to more than two events before they must then become a member themselves to attend.
Each member is allowed to bring a maximum of two guests to an event.
Members must register their guests in advance and provide their guests’ names and contact information.
If there is a waitlist for the event, members have first priority to attend the event. If there are still spots available after all members have registered, guests will be allowed to attend on a first-come, first-served basis.
Guests must comply with the same rules and regulations as members and are subject to the same code of conduct. Guest will have to sign waivers before attending.
Members are responsible for their guests’ behavior and must ensure that their guests do not cause any disturbance to other members or guests.

Policy for Reaching Out to Other Members

Eventurous Singles is known for bringing people together and connections are forming on every level. Members are allowed to reach out to other members if they are interested in connecting, however you must first get permission from the other member.

If members would like to connect outside of the group, please ask for the other members’ contact information, such as phone numbers or Facebook Messenger profile name, at the events.
Members should not contact other members without their permission.
Any inappropriate messaging, stalking, or behavior that makes someone feel unsafe will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the group without a refund.

Drinking Policy at Events

At Eventurous Singles, we expect all members to act responsibly and be considerate of others. While we don’t provide alcoholic beverages, we do allow members to bring or purchase their own drinks at certain events.

Alcohol is allowed to be purchased and brought to certain Eventurous Singles events, members are expected to drink responsibly and be respectful to others.
Members are responsible for arranging a safe ride home after the event.
Members who violate the drinking policy or cause a disturbance can be removed from the event and may also include suspension or revocation of your membership without a refund.

Bringing Children to Events

We understand that it can be challenging to attend events when you have children at home. To help you stay connected, we offer multiple events and event duplications so that you don’t miss out on the events you love. While most of our events are not kid-friendly, we occasionally offer events that are open to children.

Children are allowed to attend events only if the event is specifically designated as kid-friendly.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The event organizers are not responsible for supervising children.
Children must comply with the same rules and regulations as adults and are subject to the same code of conduct. In certain instances waivers for the children must also be completed.
The event organizers reserve the right to remove any child or adult who violates the event’s policy or causes a disturbance.

Pet Policy for Events

Pets are allowed only at pet-friendly events.
All pets must be kept on a leash or in a carrier at all times.
Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
Pet owners must ensure that their pets do not cause any damage to the event venue or other people’s property.
Pet owners must ensure that their pets do not cause any disturbance to other event attendees.
Pet owners must ensure that their pets are up-to-date on their vaccinations and free of any communicable infections or parasites.
Pet owners must ensure that their pets are well-behaved and do not pose a threat to other pets or people.
Pet owners must ensure that their pets are not left unattended at any time.

Drug Policy for Events

Eventurous Singles is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all attendees.

The use, possession, sale, or distribution of illegal drugs or controlled substances is strictly prohibited at events.

Attendees who are found to be in violation of this policy or cause a disturbance will be subject to removal from the event and their membership may be suspended or revoked without refund.

Weapons Policy for Events

Firearms, explosives, knives and other dangerous weapons are not allowed at events.
These items should be left at home.
There are no exceptions to this rule.
Members who violate the weapons policy or cause a disturbance may be removed from the event and their membership may be suspended or revoked without refund.

Agreement to Join

Joining implies that you have read, understood, and agreed to the Rules and Guidelines, our Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy and that you have signed the photo and video release form.

THE EVENTUROUS SINGLES PHOTO RELEASE FORM

I hereby grant the Eventurous Singles permission to use my likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media (“photo”) in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration.

I understand and agree that all photos will become the property of the Eventurous Singles and will not be returned.

I hereby irrevocably authorize the Eventurous Singles to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these photos for any lawful purpose. In addition, I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the photo.

I hereby hold harmless, release, and forever discharge the Eventurous Singles from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
